Nutritional Facts
- Chlorophyll: Exceptionally high; known for its “blood-building” properties and ability to assist in liver detoxification.3

- Protein: Surprisingly high for a grass, containing about 15–20% protein by dry weight, including all essential amino acids.
Culinary Tips
- The Juicing Standard: Because the grass is very high in cellulose (fiber), it’s best to use a “masticating” juicer. If you don’t have one, blend the blades with water in a high-speed blender and strain through a cheesecloth or nut milk bag.
- Smoothie “Boost”: Instead of juicing, you can chop the grass finely and blend it into a smoothie. The high fiber content will remain, which is great for digestion, but the texture will be noticeable.
- Pet Treat: It is completely safe and actually beneficial for cats and dogs. Growing a small tray of “cat grass” (which is usually just oat grass) provides them with essential folic acid and aids their digestion.
Storage Tip: To keep your Microgreens at peak freshness, store them in your refrigerator’s crisper drawer. Keep them dry and in an airtight container; only wash them immediately before you are ready to eat!
